Longest Six in Cricket History
The record for the longest six in cricket history is a bit complex. There are two contenders:
Officially: The record belongs to Brett Lee (Australia) who launched a ball an estimated 130-135 meters during a Test match against West Indies in 2005. The ball reportedly cleared the roof of the stands and landed in the practice nets outside the stadium.
Unofficially: Shahid Afridi (Pakistan) claims the unofficial record with a monster six that traveled 153 meters against South Africa in a 2013 ODI. However, the validity of this claim is unsubstantiated due to lack of official measurements.
It's important to note that measuring sixes accurately isn't always straightforward, especially in older matches. So, while Lee's six holds the official record, Afridi's monster hit might be the true long distance champion.
